Numeral systems
The same number, three ways of writing it. Morocco and Algeria write 1234. Egypt and the Gulf write ١٢٣٤. Persian writes ۱۲۳۴, with different code points. The choice is a locale decision, not a font feature, and most interfaces make it by accident.
Pick a country to see the convention.
Why this is not CSS
There is no property that switches numeral systems. The digits come from the
locale the text is formatted in or from the characters in the string, so the decision
belongs to your formatter: Intl.NumberFormat, your i18n library, or the
copywriter who typed the number into the template.
Fonts matter here only in that the font has to contain the code points. A Latin-only family renders ١٢٣٤ from a fallback font, which is how one number ends up in a different typeface from the sentence around it.
Country defaults are convention, not law. Lebanon and Sudan mix both, bilingual products often use Western digits with Arabic words, and the only authority is the reader. Treat the table as a starting point and check with the people you are shipping to.
